Wow that dirt patch has grown almost daily into a treasure trove of flowers and food. We survived the local plant thief thanks to my teen pal Brit that put the word out to local teens to quit grabbing our plants. Asking worked! She even felt good for helping!
My friend Lynn assured me that cutting flowers helps more flowers grow- (if the flower forks, leave the baby fork and cut the flower side). I own a mini vase so I can leave most of the plant intact!) Flowers just make you happy… You can’t ever look at a flower and feel completely sad! ——————- But as you look at the next few photos the only thang’s that we put forth were a few seeds, a few dollars on plants, and about $10 a month in water bills-
What we gained was fresh peppers, tomatoes, herbs. flowers… and the most surprising of all was the potatoes! Well dollar for pound potatoes are cheap but fresh potatoes are really moist and delicious! I guess I never really ate a fresh potato! It’s so funny because the spuds that sprout get tossed in a corner in the yard… and I see sprouts… Our goal is an edible yard… A manicured lawn is work…. a garden yard feeds us, bees, birds, butterflies and all sorts of God’s creatures that make our world rich and diverse! Eat well, enjoy the sights and live happier!
